What low cost braces do you offer?
Invisalign® uses a series of lightweight, custom-made clear aligners that are created just for you and worn over the teeth for around 23 hours a day. You change the aligners every two weeks to move your teeth quickly and effectively towards their final, straighter position. Invisalign® aligners are incredibly popular because they can be removed for eating, cleaning, brushing your teeth and the occasional night out. They’re almost invisible to other people and very comfortable to wear. For more information, visit www.invisalign.co.uk
Inman Aligners from Harwood Dental Care can straighten your front teeth in as little as six weeks. Treatment is perfect for mild to moderate problems with the front top and bottom teeth and corrects crowded or protruding front teeth. It is really quick, very safe and great value. Your front teeth can be gently guided to an ideal position in just a few weeks - with most cases being completed in 6 to 16 weeks. The low-impact aligner is also removable, allowing you take it out to fit around your lifestyle. Because the Inman Aligner focuses on your most visible teeth and is quick-acting, it is also a low cost solution. For more information visit www.inmanaligner.com
Do straight teeth = healthy teeth?
Apart from the obvious cosmetic advantages to having straight teeth, did you also know that there are health advantages too?
One of the hardest areas to reach when cleaning your teeth is in between them. This is where bacteria can lurk and it is as these bacteria feed that they excrete acid which attacks your teeth causing tooth decay. Keeping this bacteria at bay is vital, which means cleaning in between your teeth is vital.
Your dental hygienist will normally recommend flossing in between your teeth, this is one of the best ways of keeping this area clean, but if your teeth are crooked it can make this area particularly difficult access.
This means that straight teeth are not healthy teeth per se, but because they are often easier to clean it is far more likely that they will remain healthier for life so long as you continue to clean them properly.
Are there natural ways to straighten teeth without braces?
Unfortunately, there aren’t any ways you can straighten your teeth without help. The most natural solution is to think about something like Invisalign which uses clear aligners instead of the conventional train track braces. These look and appear natural and can be removed for eating, making them a great choice if you want to have straight teeth without anyone else knowing.
Are there alternatives to braces and aligners?
Veneers and bonding can be used very successfully to straighten your teeth. One of the big advantages with using veneers and/or bonding is that the colour and shape can be corrected as well is the alignment - this often makes these restorative types of treatment for crooked teeth more desirable than straightforward orthodontics.
For some more advanced smile makeover cases, we may consider a combination of treatments, perhaps using orthodontics to move the teeth to a more suitable position and then a small amount of bonding to restore the shape and a final course of whitening to whiten them to the desired colour.
Will I have to have teeth removed to wear a brace?
We try wherever possible not to extract any teeth as part of our orthodontic care. However, sometimes the reason that teeth are crooked is because there just isn’t enough room - in this case, extracting maybe the best thing to do. The alternative is to look at things like expanding your arch. If your teeth are crooked because there isn’t enough room, it may be because your jaw is too small. Modern techniques such as arch expansion can increase the size of the jaw thereby creating more room for all of the teeth to fit in.
Orthodontic treatment can straighten crowded or crooked teeth and move them into a better position. This not only improves your smile but also the way your teeth bite together.
When you come to us for low cost braces, we will provide a thorough estimate of your proposed treatment, giving you complete visibility and choice before you commit to going ahead.
